Paintings

Investigation from others.

I paint faces to tell the unspoken story. Each portrait is an encounter, each series a piece of the journey.

I.

The legacy

My father painted with watercolors. After his passing, I picked up my brushes again, like picking up an interrupted conversation.

II.

The wide

I have a very strong connection with the ocean, whether as a sailor or a surfer; I was lucky enough to do a transatlantic crossing and to confront this raw nature, an inexhaustible source of inspiration.

Vague, surf art de Peïo

On the water, with this infinite horizon, there is a form of poetry between what we see and what we imagine.

III.

The faces

The faces came next. Women and men from here and elsewhere, met or dreamed of. I'm less interested in resemblance than in what passes through a gaze.

On the Wall

The street, the wall, the graffiti: the portrait is like a poster you come across in the city that looks back at you.

Fragments

And then the face fragmented: texture, collage, shards. Like a memory being pieced back together bit by bit.

IV.

The gesture

First, a form of controlled chaos where colors blend, clash, and juxtapose. Then a face, a gaze, an emotion emerges to create a dialogue and harmony between these two elements.
